What changed

Written from the commits that shipped, newest first. Dates are deployment dates, not plan dates.

  1. 2026-10-14

Pro and Enterprise moved to Soon

An audit asked what each advertised limit actually does, and found checkout could take money while nothing wrote a subscription and no server enforced the plan ceilings. /billing/checkout now answers 409 plan_not_available for a tier it cannot deliver, every pricing surface labels those tiers Soon, and the invented metrics came off the landing page. Contexta runs as a beta on Free until payment and limits are wired end to end.

  2. 2026-10-14

Charts you can use with a thumb

The dashboard stopped shipping a charting library: both charts are drawn as plain SVG now and the largest bundle on /dashboard fell from 314 kB to 170 kB. Dense charts answer to a drag across the columns instead of a precise tap, form controls are at least 16 px on phones so iOS stops zooming the page, and wide tables now say that they scroll sideways.

  3. 2026-10-13

    Briefs read the whole document

The Intelligence panel used to summarise from the first chunk only. It now samples windows spread across the corpus, merges them into one brief, and publishes the coverage it managed to read. The result is stored with the document, so reopening the page costs nothing.

  4. 2026-10-13

Answers stopped running out of budget

Two production 502s fixed. A truncated JSON answer is now repaired instead of thrown away, and brief requests no longer let the model spend the entire token budget on hidden reasoning before it writes anything.

  5. 2026-10-13

    Uploads finish

Embeddings are batched at 128, transient indexing failures retry three times with backoff, storage calls time out at 300 s with a readable message, and the upload bar reports real bytes instead of a ticking animation.

  6. 2026-10-13

    Retrieval quality and honest scores

Chat answers now run a relevance threshold and a prompt budget, and the relevance number shown is the fused score as a whole percentage. When the retrieved material is too thin to answer, the workspace says so instead of producing a confident paragraph.

  7. 2026-10-11

    Billing wiring landed

Stripe checkout wired to the plan tiers and a paywall that appears at the gate instead of a decorative banner, alongside email verification and a first-run onboarding flow. The limits themselves were still checked only in the browser — the entry above closes that gap.

  8. 2026-10-10

    Sign in with Google

Google OAuth alongside email and password, with password management added to the profile so either sign-in method can set or change a password.

  9. 2026-10-09

The workspace became a sidebar app

Redesigned dashboard with an activity chart, a dedicated usage page, API keys moved to their own page, and trash, notifications and an activity log wired to real data.

  10. 2026-10-07

Retrieval became an API and an MCP server

Owners can mint and retire API keys, the /v1 endpoints serve retrieval, document listing and export, and the same key works as an MCP credential for the three Contexta tools.
