Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Contexta ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Contexta is provided by Contexta ("we", "us", "our").
2. Description of Service
Contexta is a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) platform that allows users to upload documents, index their content using vector embeddings, and interact with the indexed knowledge through natural language chat. The Service includes document storage, AI-powered question answering, API access, and document conversion tools.
3. Accounts & Authentication
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. During registration you declare your age and accept these Terms, and we record the date of that acceptance together with the version of these Terms you accepted. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must not share your API keys or authentication tokens with unauthorized parties. You must provide accurate registration information. You may not create accounts for the purpose of violating these terms or applicable law.
4. Acceptable Use
You may not: upload documents containing illegal content or content that infringes third-party rights; use the Service to generate content that is defamatory, harassing, or otherwise harmful; attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its related systems; use the Service for high-volume automated requests beyond your plan limits; reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.
5. Your Content
You retain ownership of documents you upload to Contexta. By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and index your documents solely for the purpose of providing the Service. We do not use your uploaded content to train models or provide services to other users. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload and process your documents.
6. AI-Generated Responses
Answers generated by Contexta are produced by large language models and may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. AI-generated content should not be relied upon as professional advice. You are responsible for verifying any information before acting on it. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or fitness of AI-generated responses.
7. Billing & Plans
The Service is currently provided free of charge while it is in beta, and no paid plan is offered for purchase yet — paid plans will be available soon. When they become available, they will be billed monthly or annually as displayed at the time of purchase, and fees will be non-refundable unless required by law. We may change pricing with at least 30 days notice before the change takes effect. Failure to pay may result in suspension or termination of your account.
8. Termination
You may delete your account at any time through the Profile settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, if required by law, or for extended non-payment. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We will retain your data for 30 days after termination before permanent deletion, unless required by law to retain it longer.
9. Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, profits, or business opportunities, arising from your use of the Service.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email or through the Service at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
